Where is the development situated?
The Waterfront Quarter occupies a prominent site just to the south of Huddersfield town centre, with frontage to Manchester Road (A62) and Chapel Hill (A616).
I have heard that Kirklees College is moving to the site, is this true?
Yes, Kirklees college recieved planning permission at the development in February 2010, the college building is now being constructed at the site.
What is happening to Sellers Engineers?
Sellers are relocating to a new factory on Leeds Road in the spring of 2011.
Will there be parking spaces at the site?
Yes, there will be parking available at the site, this will be a mixture on surface level parking, primarily for disabled users and underground parking.
I've read that there will be new bar and restaurants within the complex, any suggestions as to which types of establishments will be opening?
The will be a selection of new bars and restaurants opening at the site, we are still in discussions as to the type of venues that will open.
Who is involved in the project?
There are a lot of people involved with the development, please see the our Partners Page to read more abut who we are and who we are working with on the project.
How will this development benefit the Huddersfield community?
The WaterFront Development hopes to provide up to 2,000 jobs with 190,000sq ft of office spaces, leisure facilities and housing. It also has ambitions to be a business hub and leisure area for the people of Huddersfield to use and enjoy.
The success of the development will hopefully act as a catalyst for the further investment in the area over forthcoming years.
